A
couple of years ago, sometime around October 2003, a comic book was published
and later on turned into a television series known as 'The Walking Dead'. At
first, I thought it was just another typical zombie apocalypse story, wherein
the survivors must face the horrible situations that the zombies brought on our
world, and I find that kind of story line a bit boring. To be honest, I'm not a
fan of zombies. I hate them because they gave me nightmares. I can't even stay
in my seat every time a show about them is playing, especially if its '28 days
later', because believe me, that movie made me locked our whole place down for
how many nights. But it all changed when I saw a door at our television that
had these words, "Don't open, Dead inside". And that’s the time I
told myself that cat isn't the only the thing that curiosity kills, also our
fear.
'The
Walking Dead' isn't the typical zombie show. Maybe at first it was, but as the
show goes by, it’s very different. It’s not just about killing and madness, it’s
also about love, friendship and keeping your family safe. It made us open our
eyes to a thing that sometimes we can't notice and that is: 'Family does not
end in blood.’. We will see a lot of that in this upcoming new season.
As
a fan of TWD, both in comic book and TV series, I'm expecting to see a lot of
things. I mean come on, after that mind blowing trailer (plus the sneak peek
scenes); the upcoming new season will be definitely a blast. First, I am
expecting to see how the group will survive from Termites (terminus people). I
want to see them working together, especially now that Carol and Tyreese are
back in the group.
Second, I'm expecting that they will show us who kidnapped
Beth and why did they do it. And because of some clips from the trailer, I
think she's in a bad community. Because of the pictures of the beardless Andrew
(a.k.a Rick Grimes) that are swimming on the internet, I'm expecting to see,
well maybe I'm not the only one, the Alexandria Safe Zone. They might show it
at the middle part because they will encounter Fr. Gabriel and of course, deal
with the walkers that are roaming around them and that good-looking leader of
Terminus is still with them that I'm sure will have a part in the show (or in
the list of dead characters), so maybe before they show it, there will be a lot
of fights, blood and guts flying over them. It will be a long road for them and
we never know, they might lose some on the way.
And lastly, the thing, more of
like the person that I am expecting to see is Negan. We all have our favorite villain
so you can't blame me if I want to see him on my screen with Lucille on his
hand. And probably Glen's head on the other (#spoiler). And the revelation of
Eugene's secret is also on my "expecting" list.
So yeah, in short,
I'm expecting to see A LOT of 'stuff 'n things' in this new upcoming season
five of The Walking Dead. We are talking about a creation of Robert Kirkman
here, anything can happen. He can kill Daryl. Make Michonne in love with Rick.
Hell, he can even give Judith her first walker kill.
Anything is possible in 'The Walking Dead'. And the more we expect, the more we get hurt. But that is the great thing about this show, they can make us feel what they feel. So in the end, if they make Rick look at the flowers or separate our Caryl again, they are not just screwing with the wrong people, they're also screwing with the wrong fans.
