Did you know that on August 8, 1606, the Venetian Senate examines Galileo Galilei's telescope?

Galileo presented his telescope before the Venetian Senate. Many of us know that it was Galileo who had the first idea on the telescope. Before Galileo, there were Dutch spectacle makers who combined lenses which can make small objects look bigger. Gelileo's telescope is a modified version of the previous one.

Galileo's presentation in front of the senate is successful. In fact, we had a lifetime appointment to the University of Padua. With his telescope, he can see the moons of Jupiter, see the different phases of Venus. The most important role of his Telescope is, he was able to prove Heliocentricsm.
